Four areas of comparison have been taken into account:<\/p><ul><li>Health, demographic change and well-being. The Region has a lower than average level of fund absorption.<\/li><li>Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research. A medium high level for the Region at this point, with the highest allocation of resources being food security and agriculture in all areas.<\/li><li>Secure, clean and efficient energy.
